Silicone Based Lubricants
Since silicone based lubes are a form of oil they retain their lubrication properties longer than most water based lubricant. Most silicone based lubricants are safe to use with condoms, but you should still read the packaging to be 100% sure.
You should also be careful not to use a silicone based lubricant with a pre-lubricated condom. Since most pre-lubricated condoms use a silicone based lube you don’t want to mix the two lubes together. This is why you need to be on your toes when trying to use both lube and condoms while remaining safe. You can also use silicone-bases lubricant because this type of lube will retain its lubrication properties even when submerged in water. This makes silicone based lubricant handy for shower play or in the hot tub.
You should also make sure not to use silicone based lubricant with your silicone sex toys in either partner play or during masturbation. Silicone based lube will breakdown the outer surface of your sex toys and make them sticky. You can use lube with your sex toys, but you need to be aware of the proper lubricant to use with them. Usually there will be instructions when you buy your toy or you can ask a salesperson. Being safe with your lube is the key to safe sex!
