Silicone Based Lubricants
Selecting the right brand of lubricant for both water based lube or silicone based lube can be tricky. You need to know the facts about all of them to make sure you are getting a quality product.
Buying a starter lube sampler can be a great way to test different kinds of lubes before spending money on a full size product. Silicone lubes are slightly less numerous that water based lubes so this makes it easier to make a selection. Most silicone lubes feel very similar to each other in terms of viscosity and texture.
There is just one difference that makes some silicone lubes cost more than others and affects quality as well. This difference is a particular ingredient called dimethicone. Dimethicone is a dense ingredient that will be more plentiful in a more expensive silicone lubricant product. Your higher quality silicone based lube will feel more velvety to the touch than your lower cost and lower quality product. If you are looking at labels then you can see where in the ingredient list is dimethicone. Two of the highest quality silicone based lubes are Eros Bodygluide and Wet Platinum. ID Millennium is a good choice, but not as high in quality as the two aforementioned lubricants.
