Oh My - The Condom Broke!
If your condom breaks then just hold on and relax before you panic. Follow these steps in the event that this happens to you and your partner. First of all, if the condom breaks before ejaculation has taken place then just take of the broken condom and put on a new condom. Carry on with your activities. If the condom breaks after ejaculation has occurred then try to withdraw very carefully. You should both wash your genital area.
If you and your partner are in a monogamous relationship then you can relax about STD’s if you believe that are both clean and have been tested recently. If you are not in a monogamous relationship with your sex partner then you should both get tested for sexually transmitted diseases including HIV. If you were not using another form of birth control then you can opt of the morning after pill. This pill can be taken up to 72 hours after a condom breaks to prevent pregnancy from occurring. These are available by prescription and in some pharmacies they may now be available over the counter.
This may depend on your state or city. You can always go to a Planned Parenthood Clinic to obtain the morning after pill as well. The most important thing is to remain calm and to take the steps you need to prevent pregnancy and check for STD’s.
