How to Use a Condom Correctly
Contraceptives like condoms can offer total protection against unwanted pregnancies and sexual transmitted diseases. Even when using other birth control methods, condoms should always be used when performing vaginal intercourse, oral sex and anal sex, to prevent the transmission of incurable diseases like HIV.
Condoms are one of the most popular forms of contraceptives mostly because they are widely available, easy to use, very affordable and don’t require a doctor’s prescription to be purchased. To offer total protection it is vital to not only use a contraceptive, but also use it correctly to insure it does exactly what it was intended for.
• Before starting any sexual intercourse it is important to insure that the condom is firmly placed over the erect penis. Only then are both sexual partners fully protected against infections and sexually transmitted diseases.
• When applying the condom over the erect penis hold the top part firmly to squeeze access air out, while simultaneously unrolling the rest of the condom until it reaches the base of the penis. This will insure that the condom is tightly adjusted to the male sexual organ and that it won’t fall of during vaginal or anal penetration. Never open a condom wrapping using teeth or any other sharp object which could potentially damage the latex.
• One of the most important rules that everyone should remember is that latex condoms are not supposed to be used with oil-based lubricants. If a lubricant must be used for whatever reason, it is advisable to utilize only water based alternatives or make sure that the condom is made of polyurethane since these won’t lose their natural properties when in contact with a lubricant.
• During intercourse no other sexual enhancement objects should be used to penetrate alongside the penis or to stimulate the vagina because such sexual toys are often unsafe and can damage the condom leaving both partners unprotected.
• After ejaculation it is important to hold the bottom section of the condom firmly while the penis is still erect to insure the semen doesn’t spill out. Then withdraw while holding the condom tightly and wash hands thoroughly when finished.
• Condoms were not designed to be used more than once, so it is imperative to apply a new one after ejaculation even during prolonged sexual activity with the same partner.
Following these simple rules will insure that sex is maintained safe and fun at the same time. Using a condom is the best way to shield against sexual transmitted diseases and any other negative misshapes that could put an end to the fun part of having sex.
