Water Based Lubricant with the Right Ingredients

Now that you have decided on the viscosity of your personal lubricant or lubricants, then you can choose what ingredients fit your lube best. You need to make sure that you will not have a negative reaction to your water based lubricant so here is a guide to the three types of ingredients that may cause a reaction.

Any ingredient whose name ends with the word parabens may cause a negative reaction. These are preservatives that can cause an allergic reaction in people and this potential reaction can increase the longer one is exposed to them. The ingredient glycerin should be avoided if a woman is prone to getting yeast infections. Sorbitol should also be avoided if one is prone to yeast infections. The sweetness in these lubricants could cause the healthy natural yeast in a woman’s vagina to grow and cause an infection.

Other special types of lube can cause reactions for those with sensitive skin. If you know you are already sensitive to lubricants then you should avoid warming lubricants. You should also avoid anything flavored or scented. Desensitizing lubricant would also be something to stay away from. If you are not sensitive to particular ingredients that play away! It is always good to be aware of these different ingredients to try something new if you are developing an allergic reaction.
