A condom is a male contraceptive device that offers protection against unwanted pregnancies and safeguards from the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Nowadays most modern condoms are fabricated from latex because of its durable, waterproof and elastic properties. Polyurethane is also commonly used even though this material is more expensive. On the other hand it does present many advantages over latex especially seeing as it can be used with oil-based lubricants and is less allergenic.
